Players waiting for the next mainline Tomb Raider game may have to wait a little longer. Tomb Raider: Catalyst appears to have slipped to 2028, according to comments made by an Amazon Gaming executive, pushing the game beyond its previously announced 2027 release window.

The update came during an interview with The Game Business, where Amazon Games Vice President Jeffrey Gattis discussed the company's investment strategy across projects of different scales. While explaining Amazon's continued commitment to AAA development, Gattis referenced the publisher's upcoming Tomb Raider titles and appeared to reveal a revised launch timeline.

"We've announced the two Tomb Raider titles—Atlantis comes February 12th of next year and then we'll follow on in 2028 with the next one," Gattis said.

If accurate, the statement indicates that Tomb Raider: Catalyst will no longer arrive in 2027 as originally planned. The game was unveiled during The Game Awards 2025, when it was given a 2027 release window, though a specific launch date had never been announced.

Amazon has not officially confirmed a delay since Gattis' remarks, leaving some uncertainty around the timeline. It's possible the executive misspoke or confused the release schedule while discussing the company's lineup, meaning the 2028 date has yet to be formally verified.

Until Amazon Games or Crystal Dynamics issues an official update, Tomb Raider: Catalyst's release window remains unconfirmed, despite Gattis' comments suggesting the sequel has been pushed back by a year.
