Terminator 2: Judgment Day is heading back to theaters worldwide, with Studio Canal, Fathom Entertainment, and Rialto Pictures confirming a new run of 35th anniversary screenings in 2026.

For longtime fans, that means another chance to experience one of action cinema’s defining films the way it was originally built to be seen: on the biggest screen possible, with a crowd and full theatrical sound behind it.

“T2 was made for theatres, and coming back to the big screen is the absolute best way to see the film,” director James Cameron said in a statement released with the announcement. “I believe it’s safe to do spoilers after 35 years, so SPOILER ALERT: the good guys win against the AI superintelligence! And maybe that’s a message of hope we all could use this summer.”

In the United States, the anniversary screenings will run from August 28 through September 2, 2026. International dates have also been outlined for several regions and countries.

Global screening dates

  • 27 August 2026: Germany, LATAM, Czech Republic

  • 28 August 2026: US, Italy, Poland

  • 2 September 2026: France

Originally released in 1991, Terminator 2: Judgment Day stars Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. More than three decades later, it still stands as one of the most celebrated and influential action films ever made, with its blend of scale, sci-fi tension, and unforgettable set pieces continuing to define the genre.
