Guard your desk—or catch those employees slacking off?
The theme of Ghost Office is easily one of its most distinctive features. On one side are the angry monster bosses trying to break through, while on the other are mischievous little employees who would much rather slack off than work. It's basically a workplace rivalry taken to the extreme. The character designs also have a bit of a Don't Starve vibe, which makes the whole thing even more amusing.
The best part is how easy it is to get into a match. Open the game, find a match, and start playing. That's it. There aren't endless bundles or promotional pop-ups cluttering the screen and getting in the way.
Character upgrades are also kept extremely simple. Skills only go up to level 3, so you can reach the maximum level without much trouble. Different characters have different abilities, although they don't dramatically change the outcome of a match. Unlocking new characters is easy too, so you can quickly experiment with different options.
You can choose between the boss and employee sides. As the boss, you need to deal with six employees. Smash through the doors of their rooms and drag out those lazy workers before they can keep slacking off. If you choose the employee side, you'll need to place the right buildings, make smart decisions, and figure out which building deserves an upgrade first, all while trying to take down the angry boss.
That said, Ghost Office isn't perfect. The boss side can become a little boring, especially when neither side can make meaningful progress. A long stalemate can turn into a test of patience for everyone involved. Bosses also have a surprisingly limited attack style—they basically just rely on basic attacks, and when their health gets low, they have to retreat to the office to recover.
Overall, Ghost Office is a pretty unusual take on the tower defense genre. Its simple progression, quirky workplace theme, and quick matchmaking make it easy to pick up and play.
